I wasn't a big fan of Ponder, because he seldom would throw the ball
down the field, thus limiting our chances for a big offensive play. He
was always doing 5 yard passes, even when we were behind with time
running out, and 90 yards to go.

Even I agree however, that Ponder is better than Freeman at this
point. I agreed with Frazier's initial decision to start Cassel
against the Steelers, but when Cassel bombed against Carolina, it was
time to bring Ponder back. After Freeman bombed against the Giants,
it is certainly time to bring Ponder back. But Frazier is going to
start Freeman again. Another one of his many mistakes. He should have
benched Freeman midway through the Giants game. Anyone could see
Freeman was not ready and the thing to do was bench him. Frazier said
he didn't bench him because the game was still close. That is all the
more reason to bench him though. Our defense actually had played well
most of the first half. We needed some offense but weren't getting any
under Freeman. We always got some at least under Ponder.
He seems to think Freeman just hasn't had time to get used to the
offense but will get better. First, he didn't get better in Tampa
Bay, he was getting worse. Second, he badly missed on several
throws, over throwing by several yards, which was just poor accuracy,
not soo much to do with getting use to routes. Ponder, although I
am no fan of, at least had some accuracy.

Ponder will start against the Packers afterall. So I had apparently
heard wrong. Freeman had a concussion.
I think this could be Ponders last chance to be a starter.
At home against the Packers he has nothing to lose. Everyone expects
us to lose. Sometimes that helps us at home, but our defense better
get fired up as well and the secondary needs to cover people.

I really thought our D played good enuff to win in NY, but
we didn't have any sides of barns for Freeman to throw at,
only regular human WRs. If the boys can pull this one off,
i say let's rent em a pontoon boat and get stome strippers
out on a lake somewhere, there's 10,000 of em in Minny,
gotta be one where there's no press watching.
